Learn to Play Hockey

Our Learn to Play Hockey school will start on October 18 and run for 10 weeks with no class November 1 & 2 and 29 & 30.  We offer 2 different levels, which are listed below.

Learn to Play is for kids that have completed Learn to Skate Basic Skills Level 3 or have previous skating experience. Kids with previous skating experience must be approved by coach to start classes in Learn to play. (Click here to register for Learn to Skate Classes)
This program will accept players with basic skating skills.  The focus of this program will be an assortment of skating mechanic incorporating change in direction, how to hold a hockey stick and to have sound foundational skating skills, proper stick mechanics and puck control.

In this program, we will use hockey sticks on ice.  The focus will be on skating, but also work on stick control.  A program will be provided that will outline the content of what we expect to address in each session and things you can do outside the class to develop.

Intro to Hockey is for kids that completed Learn to Play. Kids must be approved by coach to start classes in Intro to Hockey. 
This program will accept players that have basic skating skills and demonstrate the basic mechanic of controlling a hockey stick. To graduate from this program, the player will be able to have solid skating skills, good puck control and be able to shoot the puck.

In this program, we will build on the sills developed in the Learn to Play Program.  The focus will be on skating, passing and shooting.  A program will be provided that will outline the content of what we expect to address in each session and things you can do outside the class to develop
