LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM
Whether you are a new skater who has never been on the ice or an experienced skater looking to improve, Willowbrook Ice Arena offers a fundamental program that provides a fun, goal-oriented curriculum at every skill level!
- Classes for ages 3-adult
- Classes meet once per week for 30-45 min
- Choose from Wednesdays 5:30pm, Fridays 5:15 & 6:15pm or Saturdays 8:45 & 9:45am
- Skate Rental is $4 each or 8/$28. Sizes are limited
- Policy Change - beginning March 1, 2026 we will no longer allow make-ups for classes missed
DATES TO KNOW:
Spring 1 2026 Session runs March 4 - April 25
2026 Spring Ice Show - Those enrolled in our Spring 1 Learn to Skate classes are eligible to participate in our Annual Spring Ice Show!! Skaters will perform a group routine. A costume will be provided. Additional practice time and registration fee is required. Registration opens March 15. Practices - 5 weeks on Mondays. Show date - April 26th.
Spring 2 2026 Session runs April 29 - June 27. All ages and levels. Registration opens April 15th
Summer Vacation 2026 Learn to Skate This session is geared toward new skaters 3 years-adult looking to try a new sport this summer. Registration is now open. Classes will be held on Tuesdays only June 2 - July 28. Clients currently enrolled in Spring 1 classes should register for the Spring 2 (May/June) session.
Snowplow Sam
Snowplow Sam Levels 1- 4 (Ages 3-5)
3-5 year-olds who have zero or little skating experience should sign up for Snowplow Sam Level 1. These classes use a variety of games and easy understand terms to teach the basic skating skills and comfort on the ice.
Basic Skills
Basic Levels 1-6 (Ages 6 & up)
6-11 year-olds who have zero or little skating experince should sign up for Basic Skills Level 1. Skaters learn the fundamentals before graduating to Basic 2-6 to build the skills of forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns, Mohawks.
Pre-Teen/Teen/Adult (Ages 12-Adult)
Pre-Freeskate
This class will build on skills mastered in Basic 6 to create a strong foundation and prepare skaters for Freestyle 1-6.
Freestyle Levels 1-6
Freestyle levels give skaters a strong foundation on which to build up their skills. Here students learn more advanced moves like jumps and spins.
Refund Policy: Should a client decide after completion of ONE class they would like to drop from the session, a prorated refund will be granted. After two classes have been attended, NO refunds will be given. After the third week of the session NO refunds will be given for any reason. A $20 processing fee will be applied to all refunds.
Make up classes: we will no longer be offering make-up classes after March 1, 2026
Class-time changes: No time/day changes will be allowed after the second week of classes.
